Danielle Mah
Background:
For Danielle, movement is truly medicine. With over 15 years as a Registered Massage Therapist, she has spent her career as a dedicated clinical practitioner, helping clients from all walks of life navigate recovery from various types of injuries and chronic pain. This deep anatomical foundation allows her to view movement through a highly informed lens, ensuring every student moves with safety and precision.
While Danielle has extensive experience in general rehabilitation, her mission became deeply personal after the birth of her two children. Navigating two C-sections sparked a specific passion for helping women "return to life" post-baby. Having recognized a gap in restorative care, she is committed to helping mothers regain their strength, function, and body confidence through informed, evidence-based movement.
Originally trained in Contemporary Pilates through Balanced Body, Danielle’s desire to go deeper into the method led her to Classical Pilates. She has grown to love the depth and rigor of the classical lineage and now shares its principles to help her community move with power and awareness. Whether you are recovering from surgery, managing a persistent injury, or simply looking to reconnect with your body, Danielle meets you exactly where you are with a supportive, sustainable, and practiced approach.
Why I teach:
After over 15 years as a Registered Massage Therapist, I’ve seen firsthand that while passive care is a vital part of recovery, the body truly thrives—and heals—through movement. I believe that moving our bodies isn't just a luxury; it’s a necessity for a functional, pain-free life. Adding Pilates to my clinical background allowed me to offer that 'active' piece of the puzzle. There is a specific kind of joy that radiates from a person when they discover what their body is capable of achieving; that energy is contagious, and it’s exactly what fuels my passion for teaching every single day.
Education:
After graduating as a Registered Massage Therapist in 2008, I spent years honing my clinical understanding of the body before expanding into movement therapy. I furthered my expertise by completing the Balanced Body comprehensive contemporary training, a transition that allowed me to marry manual therapy with functional biomechanics. I am currently deepening this practice through Noam Gagnon’s Bridge program, refining my ability to help clients achieve a more powerful, integrated, and balanced physical experience.
